A publication in the Ultra Detail Guide series from the Japanese publisher Komakai. The designation type 97T belongs to the Lotus 97T Formula 1 car of the 1985 season. It is not a kit but a standalone title that will serve a modeler as reference.
The Lotus 97T was a car of the 1985 season powered by a turbocharged Renault six-cylinder engine. Ayrton Senna and Elio de Angelis took turns at the wheel, and it was with this car that Senna took his first Formula 1 win. It came at Estoril in rain so heavy that the race was stopped early, and Senna led it from start to finish. In the same season he added a win at Spa, and all year he was among the fastest in qualifying. The black and gold livery the car raced in is one of the best known schemes in the history of racing cars, and modelers know it from the other generations of this British marque as well. The car was designed by Gerard Ducarouge and ranks among the last great names of the marque among single-seaters.
Black paint with thin gold lines forgives very little. A title that sticks to one car helps with the placement of the lines and the lettering and with the form of the suspension and the front end.
