A green shade from the Number Five modeling paint range, made above all for builders of car models. The name refers to the circuit Porsche 934, a racing derivative from the mid-1970s. For thinning and cleaning, reach for the thinner of the same brand — with body shades that is the way to be sure the coat stays smooth and does not cloud over.
The Porsche 934 appeared in 1976 as the racing version of the turbocharged 911 and it ran in Europe as well as across the Atlantic. The green cars from the German series of the day are among the best remembered, because green on those wide fenders looks quite different from the usual white or red.
On a body shell the base is what decides. Before you start painting, sand the mold parting lines and the sprue gate marks smooth, degrease the surface and go over it with a primer, because every irregularity under the paint will show twice over once it is varnished. Apply the paint in several thin coats with a pause between them, not in one heavy pass; a heavy coat creates orange peel, which you then have to sand out the hard way.
For builders of car models who want a shade from a palette taken from circuit cars and who work with an airbrush and a varnished finish.
Both the paint and the thinner are flammable and give off fumes, so work in a ventilated space and with your airways protected.
