Gold appears on a model in two quite different roles. Either it covers a large area as part of a color scheme, or it is used drop by drop on the small things meant to shine: rims, trim, elements in the engine bay and hardware. This shade is listed in the Number 5 range under the manufacturer's part number N5-C105 and its name refers to the racing stable Scuderia del Grifone.
Gold shades are more sensitive to the base than ordinary opaque paints. Every sanding scratch and every irregularity shows through them as a matte smear, because the light reflects off that spot differently than off the surroundings. Sand the surface smooth, then, wash it, degrease it and let it dry. Stir the jar thoroughly and at length before use, as with shades of this type the pigment settles faster than with ordinary paints.
On larger areas reach for an airbrush, as brush strokes stay visible in gold for a long time. Apply thin coats and keep a short pause between them. Thin it with the thinner intended for this paint range; the thinning ratio and the pressure are given by the manufacturer in the instructions on the packaging. Let the finished surface dry thoroughly before you lay masking tape on it or varnish over it.
For builders of car models and accessories who need a gold both for an area and for a detail. This is the paint on its own; the thinner, clear varnish and spraying equipment are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
