The white RS200 White refers to the Ford RS200, a Group B car with a mid-mounted engine and four-wheel drive.
Responsibility details are not available.
The RS200 White shade is tied to one of the most unusual cars in rally history. The Ford RS200 did not come about by converting a production model but was designed from the ground up as a rally machine, and a white body belongs to it just as much as its shape.
The RS200 had its engine mounted in the middle behind the crew, four-wheel drive and the gearbox moved to the front for the sake of weight distribution. Development took place at Boreham in Britain, a contract firm handled assembly, and two hundred examples were made for homologation in Group B. The rally career was short: the class ended after the 1986 season and a number of the cars were then sold into private hands or served in hillclimbs. A white body with colored items is among the best-known forms of this type and on a model it lets its unusual proportions stand out.
It aims at collectors of Group B cars and builders of rally machinery of the 1980s. White is not a filler color here but the main surface of a model, so it pays to have a tone matching the real subject even when a rich set of decals is in store for the model.
