German Grey is a dark gray from the automotive palette of Number Five, which the maker intends for the undersides of bodies, plastic parts, seats and tires.
Responsibility details are not available.
A dark gray tone from the basic palette of the Number Five brand. The maker carries it as a universal dark gray for models of cars and motorcycles, that is not as a body color but as a shade for everything that is meant to come across on a finished model as neutrally dark and is not meant to draw attention.
The same name is borne by shades in palettes aimed at military vehicles as well, where it is understood as the dark gray of German vehicles. This item, however, belongs to the car and motorcycle line and its task is a different one: wheel arches and the undersides of bodies, unpainted plastic and rubber parts, the frames of seats, upholstery and tires. It is with exactly these surfaces that the greatest trouble tends to be in hitting a gray that does not look blue or brown, and that is why it pays to have a separate tone for them.
It aims at builders of car and motorcycle models who want to have one reliable tone for the dark gray areas and not mix it anew every time. When you build several models one after another, this approach keeps a whole collection uniform in color and saves you repeated searching for the same result. Those who work on cars with an exposed chassis will appreciate it too, where there are suddenly a great many dark gray surfaces and the differences between them would be visible on a finished model.
Storage: keep in a closed container, away from sources of heat and out of the reach of children.
