3D colored interior for the F4F-4 Wildcat (1:32) is a set of 3D decals on a backing paper for faithfully equipping the cockpit of a model of the American carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of 3D decals from Quinta Studio offers colored raised interior detail ready to apply straight away. The instrument panel, side panels, levers and markings are printed on a decal backing paper and come off by soaking in water. It is neither photo-etch nor resin but a finished colored relief. The decals are based on the cockpit of the F4F-4 kit from Trumpeter.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was the main American carrier fighter of the early fighting in the Pacific. The F4F-4 version introduced folding wings and heavier armament. Its relatively cramped cockpit with a prominent instrument panel is a rewarding subject for detailing.
First run a gloss coat over the cockpit surface (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the part from the sheet, soak it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the gloss coat. On broken surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin.
The set contains only the interior 3D decals, not the model, paints or glue.
