This set of 3D decals from Quinta Studio brings color raised interior details ready for immediate application. The instrument panel, the side consoles, the levers and the lettering are printed on backing decal paper and are released from it by a short dip in water. It is not photo-etch and not resin but a finished color relief. It is based on the dimensions of the Trumpeter kit.
The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest and most rugged American fighters of the Second World War. The late version with the bubble canopy gave the pilot a markedly better view. The roomy cockpit with its richly subdivided instrument panel is an ideal target for detailing.
First coat the cockpit surface with a gloss varnish (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the part from the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds precisely on the gloss varnish. On intricate surfaces a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, because their chemistry attacks the printed resin.
The set contains only the interior 3D decals, not the model, the paints or the glue.
