This is NOT an aircraft kit but a set of colored 3D decals with relief for rendering the cockpit of the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 Type 29 fighter in 1:32 scale in detail. It takes the place of laborious painting and of photo-etched instrument panel and side panel parts. The set is designed for the kit from ICM.
The 3D decal is printed in color with a raised relief; the raised rims of the dials, the switches, the levers and the lettering stand out particularly when seen from the side. In the large 1:32 scale interior detail comes into its own especially well. The seat belts are usually included.
Clean and degrease the base and varnish it with gloss varnish (Future/Klear, Tamiya X-22), because the element will not hold on a matte base. Cut the part out, dip it in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place; it has no adhesive layer of its own, and on an intricate surface a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, which Quinta Studio forbids: their chemistry attacks the printed resin and destroys the element. Once dry it can be knocked back with matte varnish.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
