This is a set of colored 3D decals from Quinta Studio for fitting out a cockpit interior realistically in 1:35 scale. The raised, fully colored details are printed on backing decal paper and applied as a wet decal. They take the place of conventional photo-etched sets and do away with the need for painting. This variant also holds several 3D printed resin parts for an even more faithful three-dimensional result. The decals are shaped for the parts of the Academy kit.
The AH-1W SuperCobra is a two-seat attack helicopter from the Bell Cobra family, operated above all by the Marine Corps. Its marks are a narrow fuselage with tandem seating for the pilot and the gunner, a twin-engine powerplant and richly instrumented cockpits for both crew members. Those are exactly the surfaces the set captures faithfully.
Cut the part out, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper onto the base. It has no adhesive layer of its own, it holds on gloss varnish (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22), and on intricate shapes a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Wash any residue off the resin 3D parts before gluing and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue.
The set serves as an accessory to a plastic kit and is not a model in its own right. The kit, the glue, the varnish and the paints are not included in the package.
