Responsibility details are not available.
An interior set from the Kelik brand in 1:48 scale for the FM-1 carrier fighter, which the British operated under the name Martlet Mk.V. It is delivered as a decal film with a three-dimensional relief, not as castings or photo-etch. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit, which has to be acquired separately.
The FM-1 was the license-built form of the Wildcat made by the automaker General Motors. Compared with the previous series it had lighter armament and was intended above all for escort carriers, where a short takeoff run and the robustness of the airframe were valued. The Fleet Air Arm received the same machines under the designation Martlet Mk.V. The cockpit stayed cramped and clearly divided, so every detail in it is well apparent once the build is finished.
Paint the cleaned plastic, let it dry and go over it with gloss varnish. Cut the elements off individually, carry them to the place after a brief soaking and settle the relief with the pressure of a soft swab. With deeper moldings a few drops of softener will help, as it will draw the film into shape. Once it has dried, varnish it matte. We recommend fitting the canopy frame only at the end, so that you have free access to the interior.
