The set is a sheet of decals for the racing Ferrari 458 with the starting number 66 in the form of the JMW Motorsport team from the 24-hour race at Le Mans in 2011. Neither a body nor parts are included; you are buying the markings alone for 1:24 scale.
The road 458 Italia arrived in 2009 with a naturally aspirated eight-cylinder set behind the crew and with a dual-clutch transmission. Out of the production basis arose customer circuit versions for the endurance categories of GT cars, which private teams entered all over the world. The British JMW Motorsport is among the established entrants in endurance series and starts at Le Mans regularly; its cars tend to be easily recognizable by a striking livery and dense sponsor markings of the kind this sheet carries over onto a model.
On an endurance special the whole impression rests precisely on the placement of the numbers and the lettering. The number fields on these cars are worn on the doors and on the front hood, and so seat them by the axes of the body, not by eye - a tilted numeral shows at first sight. Leave the small sponsor lettering until last, when the large areas are in place, and keep checking the distances from the edges. Once dry, overcoat the surface with varnish, so that the film does not catch on an edge anywhere.
