1:48 Republic P-47C-2 Thunderbolt Razorback is a plastic kit of the American heavy fighter with a high fuselage spine from Dora Wings.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded kit of the heavy American P-47C-2 fighter in 1:48 scale. The nickname Razorback belongs to the form in which the spine of the fuselage behind the cockpit rises smoothly to the tail surfaces; only the later production blocks received a lowered spine and a bubble canopy. Dora Wings builds its molds on fine engraving and a richly broken-up surface.
The Thunderbolt was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by the air-cooled eighteen-cylinder R-2800 Double Wasp radial, whose power at altitude was raised by a turbocharger housed in the rear of the fuselage and connected to the engine by long ducting. The armament consisted of eight 12.7 mm machine guns in the wing. The C series was the first to reach the units in Great Britain in larger numbers and opened the type's way to escort flights over Western Europe. Its strong structure later made it a feared machine for attacks on ground targets as well.
Paint the interior of the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close the halves of the fuselage. The forward section deserves extra time: the fins of the radial engine stand out after a dry pass with a lighter metallic shade, and the wiring can be suggested with thin soft wire. Before the decals, varnish the areas to a gloss; once finished, tie the surface together with a matte varnish and a discreet accentuation of the panel lines.
The package contains parts without a finish and unglued; obtain the paints and glue separately.
