An Artwox Model wooden deck in 1:400 scale for an assembled plastic model of the German battleship Bismarck. It replaces the smooth plastic surfaces with a covering that has the grain of planks. Intended for the Heller 81078 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from Artwox Model is intended for the upper deck of an assembled plastic model of the German battleship Bismarck. It does not make a model on its own; it is a modification that gives the deck surfaces the look of real plank covering. The format of the sheet corresponds to 1:400 scale. The accessory is intended for the Heller 81078 kit.
The Bismarck entered service in August 1940 as the first unit of her class and became the heaviest surface ship the Kriegsmarine deployed during the Second World War. The main armament consisted of eight 380 mm guns in four twin turrets. During a single sortie into the Atlantic in May 1941 she sent the British battlecruiser Hood to the bottom in the Denmark Strait and barely three days later succumbed herself to the superior force of the Royal Navy west of the French coast.
First rid the deck of the model of flash, dust and grease and let it dry completely. Lay the sheet down dry, check how it lines up around the superstructures and only then fit it permanently. The grain of the planks stands out after gentle toning with oil paints, and a final matte varnish unifies the whole surface. Adapt the way it is attached to the form of the sheet supplied.
