Decals of technical stencils and warning placards for a model of the Mi-17 helicopter in 1:72. An accessory to the basic markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-17 belongs to the family of twin-engine multipurpose helicopters that follow on from the Mi-8 type. You will recognize it by its high-set main rotor with five blades, its glazed nose and its roomy cabin with sliding side doors. Real machines are covered all over with small service marks, which are often missing on a model, even though it is they that make a surface look alive.
A decal sheet in 1:72 aimed at technical stencils and warning placards, that is the marks at fuel and oil filler necks, at access panels and at the places with a no-entry sign. The enclosed instructions show which placard belongs where.
In 1:72 the individual motifs really are tiny, so it pays to work under a magnifier and with a fresh blade. The base has to be glossy and perfectly dry. Trim the carrier film close around the artwork, dip the decal in lukewarm water for a moment only and let it rest on absorbent paper until the adhesive lets go. Transfer it with a damp brush, not with your fingers. With placards this small, dose the decal softener sparingly: one drop along the edges is enough, or the artwork will wrinkle and never straighten again. Finally unify the model with a matte or satin varnish.
The set will please modelers who look for extra detail even in a smaller scale and want the surface of a model marked up the way the real machine is. The helicopter model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
