Quinta Studio delivers cockpit detail in the form of a print with a thickness of its own, which is transferred like an ordinary wet decal. The modeler thus gets raised panels without gluing and without coloring the dial faces in by hand. The name denotes the small version form, that is the narrower variant of the interior set. The set is intended for the Trumpeter kit.

The Su-34 in a nutshell

The Su-34 is a two-seat strike aircraft derived from the design of the heavy fighter of the Su-27 line. The crew sits side by side in a roomy armored cockpit, which is characteristic of this type. In the model the interior is therefore unusually large and on a build with the canopy swung back it forms the dominant feature in view.

How to achieve a clean result

• Spray the cockpit parts with the base shade and let them cure properly.
• Cover the surfaces with gloss clear coat; a matte surface will blow air under the print.
• Transfer the elements one at a time and straight into place; shifting them about dry is rough treatment.
• Draw off the excess water so that the print seats over the whole surface.
• Finally unify the sheen with a semi-matte clear coat to suit the character of the interior.

Who the set is for

It pays off for anyone who wants legible instruments in the cockpit but does not want to spend hours on fine brushwork. The set is likewise a good choice for modelers who do not get on with photo-etch or who do not want to glue metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue. It also comes into its own on a piece being prepared for a display case with side lighting.
