Decals 1:144 Mohawk, Tomahawk and Kittyhawk are a sheet of British markings for three fighter types from the production of the Curtiss firm.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of markings in the small 1:144 scale, which Mark I put together for the three fighters Mohawk, Tomahawk and Kittyhawk in British service. It carries British roundels as well as the fin flash; the note about two sets is carried by the name of the item.
All three names belong to machines of the American Curtiss firm, which the Royal Air Force named in its own way. Mohawk is the name for the fighter with a radial engine, while Tomahawk and Kittyhawk denote successive stages of development of the type with a V12 engine and a strikingly long forward fuselage. These aircraft appeared on battlefields from North Africa through Burma to the Eastern Front, and their coloring therefore differed literally from desert to jungle. That is precisely why it comes in handy to have the markings of all three on one sheet.
Lay the work out in advance. If you are building more than one model, sort the motifs by individual machine onto paper, so that you do not reach by mistake for an insignia meant for another type. Always cut off only the piece you need at that moment and keep the rest of the sheet out of reach of drops of water, so that it does not get damp and start releasing on its own.
