Eduard 1:450 Yamato is a photo-etched set for sharpening the details of a plastic model of the Japanese battleship Yamato. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains stainless steel photo-etch meant for improving the details of a plastic model of the battleship Yamato in 1:450 scale. It replaces and completes features that injection-molded plastic cannot capture at the corresponding fineness. In itself it is not a model of the ship; it is an accessory to a base kit.
The Yamato was the flagship of the Imperial Japanese Navy and, together with her sister Musashi, the largest battleship ever built. Her main armament consisted of 460 millimeter guns, the largest ever deployed on a ship. She was sunk in April 1945 while sailing to Okinawa.
The etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a firm surface and are glued as a rule with cyanoacrylate glue. Make the bends along the etched groove, ideally in a bending tool. Degrease the parts before varnishing. The set suits above all for refining the railings, the ladders, the radars and the superstructure.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a kit. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
