Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains individual mullein plants for dioramas and vignettes in 1:48 scale. The plants are separated from the sheet, shaped and planted into finished terrain. The manufacturer is the Czech company Model Scene, which supplies diorama vegetation and scenery materials. It is not a model kit but a scenery accessory. The name gives a range of 1:45 and 1:48.
Mullein is a tall biennial herb. In the first year it forms a basal rosette of felted leaves, and in the second a stiff, unbranched stalk grows from it, ending in a long spike of small yellow flowers. It seeks out dry, sunny and poor soils: it grows on field margins, embankments, fill, by walls, on waste ground, along railroad tracks and in places with a disturbed surface. In a diorama it is valuable precisely for its height and its unambiguous vertical shape – in an area of low growth it works as a vertical accent that gives a scene scale and disrupts the monotony.
Plant mulleins singly, never in a dense cluster – in nature they stand alone. Place them at the feet of walls, at the edges of embankments, by fences and among the remains of structures. The stalk has to stay straight and upright, while the basal leaves are pressed to the ground. Add lower dry grass or weeds around the base so that the transition is not abrupt. Glue with cyanoacrylate into a pre-drilled hole; a taller plant needs a firm anchoring so that it does not come loose when the diorama is handled. Combining them with the thistles and weeds of the same range gives a neglected area a convincing composition.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints, the base and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
