Fan palm 1:45 and 1:72 is Model Scene scenery vegetation — fan-shaped palm leaves for tropical and subtropical dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A scenery vegetation material from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. It is not a kit and not a finished tree, but a set of individual plants and leaves on a carrier sheet. The modeler takes the parts out one at a time, shapes them and glues them into the terrain of a diorama. The dimensions cover the 1:45 to 1:72 range of scales.
The fan palm has leaves divided into rays that run out from a single point, unlike feather palms with leaves arranged along a midrib. Lower fan palms form dense undergrowth in the tropics and subtropics, growing along tracks, by watercourses and at the edges of plantations. In a diorama it is therefore better to place them in the lower and middle story of a scene than as isolated tall trees.
Plant the leaves one at a time with tweezers into a drop of cyanoacrylate or PVA glue and arrange them into a fan around a common center. Before gluing it is worth bending the leaves slightly so that their tips fall downward — a perfectly straight leaf looks artificial. Hide the base of the plant with a fine scatter or small leaves, so that the glued joints do not show. In color, palms sit well with a richer green, rather darker terrain, and the tips of older leaves can be gently toned toward ocher.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints and the substrate material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
