The base of a male figure in the large 1:16 scale. It serves as a starting point for building, reworking and modeling a figure to your own idea.

This is the base of a male figure in 1:16 scale. That is one of the large figure scales: an adult figure stands about eleven centimeters tall in it, so the shape of the musculature, the folds of the cloth and the expression of the face are all visible. That is exactly why 1:16 is chosen where the figure is meant to be the main element and not just an addition.
The base of the figure is meant for further work. The modeler works out the stance, the accessories and the equipment on it, or uses it as a support for reworking of his own. In a large scale it pays to spend time on accurate assembly and on smoothing the joints, because every unevenness shows markedly once painted.
The parts are not injection-molded polystyrene, so use super glue on them. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder back carefully. Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with detergent and let it dry out thoroughly, otherwise the paint will hold unreliably.
A proven procedure is a thin coat of primer, a flesh-tone base over it and only then the shading. In a large scale the face and the hands are usually finished with oil paints or with slow-drying acrylics, which let the shades blend.
The set is for the modeler who wants to build and paint figures and is not satisfied with a finished figure out of the box. Paints, filler and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
