Figure heads with the Soviet SSh-39 or SSh-40 helmet fitted, in 1:16 scale, the B rendition.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SSh-39 and SSh-40 helmets accompanied the Soviet soldier from the end of the 1930s through the whole of the Second World War and into the postwar years. The shell is almost the same on both; the difference lies mainly in the attachment and the execution of the inner liner. On a figure from this period the helmet shapes the silhouette of the head more than anything else, which is why it pays to give attention to how it sits.
The package holds separate heads with the helmet for 1:16 scale. At this size the shape of the face and the layout of the helmet itself already stand out, so it suits collector-grade painting as well. The heads are used for swapping where the shape or the turn of the original part does not suit you. The manufacturer offers an A rendition under the same name; what sets them apart is not stated here, so check it with the manufacturer.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder back with fine sandpaper. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface. Try dry how the head sits on the neck and level the surface with a file as needed. Paint the face from a base flesh tone with thin glazes and bring out the edges of the helmet with a dry brush at the very end.
The set is for the modeler who builds figures and a diorama from the Eastern Front and wants different faces in the group. The figures, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
