1:72 CVL-22 HMCS Bonaventure Rear Lift 1965 is a display base for a model with the motif of the rear lift platform of the Canadian aircraft carrier in her mid-1960s form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The base carries into a flat surface the look of the rear lift platform of the aircraft carrier HMCS Bonaventure in the state that the name places in 1965. The motif is worked for 1:72 scale, so a built model is given an immediately legible deck setting without your having to build the whole ship.
After the Second World War the Royal Canadian Navy had a single carrier in its inventory, and that was the Bonaventure. She entered service in 1957 and differed from the older British carriers right at handover: she had an angled flight deck, a steam catapult and a mirror landing system. She spent most of her career on anti-submarine duty in the North Atlantic and was withdrawn at the beginning of the 1970s.
Most often it will serve in a cabinet, on a display table or as a base for photography. A flat area makes setting the landing gear easier and leaves room around the machine for figures, support carts or deck equipment. When photographing, light the scene rather from the side; the artwork of the deck markings will then stand out more than under frontal light.
The base is a standalone presentation accessory. You will not find an aircraft or a ship in the consignment, and the list of machines the supplier gives with these bases is a recommendation, not a guarantee of dimensions.
