It is a combined set that brings two separate models together in one box: the Soviet Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik ground-attack aircraft and the GAZ-67B light military off-road car. Included are the clear parts of the aircraft canopy, a worked-up two-seat interior, a generous choice of underwing armament, two figures, painting masks and decals for several schemes.
The Il-2 Shturmovik was the principal Soviet ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, an armored attack machine meant for destroying ground targets. It was among the most heavily produced military aircraft in history. Beside it stands the GAZ-67B, a small Soviet off-road car of the late war years with a four-cylinder engine, a counterpart to the Allied light vehicles. The pairing of an aircraft with a vehicle makes a rewarding basis for a small front-line diorama.
Glue the parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic. On the aircraft mask the glazing with templates and sand the fuselage joints; on the vehicle do not forget the chassis and the interior before closing up the body. Apply a primer before painting. The Soviet green upper and light blue lower camouflage comes out well with an airbrush, and both the vehicle and the aircraft will take fairly heavy weathering with washes and pigments for mud and dust. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
