This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory from Eduard in 1:48 scale. The set replaces the ejection seat in the cockpit of a model of the A-10C Thunderbolt II ground attack aircraft. The parts are made by direct 3D printing from resin with a finely rendered frame, mechanism and cast straps that a plastic seat does not offer.

The real subject

The A-10C Thunderbolt II is an American single-seat ground attack aircraft for close support of ground units. The ejection seat is the dominant element of the open cockpit and is very plainly visible on a model.

Use

• The original plastic seat is replaced with the detailed resin part.
• The parts are cut from the print supports, cleaned up and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• The detail of the seat comes out after painting and accenting with a wash and a dry brush.
