Eduard 1:48 A-10C Thunderbolt II formation lights is a photo-etched set focused on the formation lights of the ground-attack aircraft. It is a detail add-on for a kit, not an aircraft model.

This is a photo-etched add-on from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail set for an A-10C Thunderbolt II model, which you obtain separately. It focuses on the formation lights on the airframe, that is on a detail that in injection-molded plastic tends to be only suggested by engraving or by a slightly raised area.
Why metal instead of plastic
Photo-etch has a thickness in tenths of a millimeter. The outline of a light therefore looks flatter and crisper on the surface of the airframe than a plastic molding, which has to have rounded edges because of the mold. That is precisely the main reason why photo-etched sets are used for thin external details. The set belongs to the full photo-etched line, not to the smaller pre-painted Zoom line.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel against a hard surface, not with cutters. Cutters will crease the metal at the point of the cut and the flat can then hardly be trued again. Sand the remains of the tab with a fine file or with high-grit sanding paper. Rid the area on the model of paint before gluing and degrease it, because photo-etch holds best on a clean surface. It is bonded with super glue applied in a really minimal amount, ideally with the tip of a toothpick or a drawing pin. Before painting, treat the metal with a base coat intended for metals, otherwise the paint is easily rubbed off the smooth surface.
The set is an add-on for an aircraft model. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
