A resin diorama baseplate in 1:72 scale, intended for displaying a model of an aircraft or of airfield hardware. It is not a kit but a finished scenic base rendering the surface of a field airfield from the period of the Second World War, with a characteristic surface and layout.
An aircraft placed on a faithful airfield surface acts far more convincingly than on a bare board. The baseplate gives a model context, a sense of scale and a story, and is easily completed with figures of ground crew, drums of fuel or small equipment.
Wash the release agent off the baseplate, sand the flash down with respiratory protection and check the fit dry. Spray the base tone on with an airbrush, bring the hollows out with a wash and dust the surface with earth pigments, so that the texture of the area and the traces of use stand out.
The baseplate is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a model are not included in the package.
