An Eduard photo-etched set in 1:48 scale for a model of the A-1H Skyraider attack aircraft. It completes the model with the features a plastic part cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-1H Skyraider is a single-engine piston attack aircraft of the US Navy. It came about at the close of the Second World War and made its name two decades later in Southeast Asia, where it was valued for the load of external stores it could carry and for its ability to stay over the battlefield for a long time; there, in close support of ground troops, the slower piston machine outdid the fast jets.
This is a photo-etched set in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch brings thin features at the right thickness and the fine surface detail a plastic part cannot carry, because a certain minimum thickness of material belongs to the way it is shaped. The set is formed for one particular kit, and the details of which are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface rather than by breaking them out; a bent photo-etched part is hard to straighten and the crease stays visible. Make the bends in a bending tool or against a hard edge, and rather in several stages. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in minute drops, and a pin or a piece of wire suits the dosing. Degrease the photo-etch before painting and coat it with a primer, otherwise the finish will rub off during further handling. Lay the small parts out on a light surface and work over it; from a dark board or from your lap a small photo-etched part will disappear before you can get the tweezers to it.
The photo-etched set alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
