1:48 A-26B-15 Invader, cockpit glazing mask for the densely subdivided greenhouse of the fast attack aircraft of the end of the Second World War. The cuts match the ICM kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks for the transparent parts of the ICM kit of the twin-engine American attack bomber with a solid nose. It follows the run of the frames of the greenhouse above the cockpit and the surfaces that adjoin it.
The Douglas A-26 Invader entered combat in 1944 as the successor to the light bombers of the previous generation. It was powered by a pair of Double Wasp radial engines, a wing with double-slotted flaps gave it good takeoff characteristics and its defense was provided by remotely controlled turrets on the top and in the belly. The B version had an unglazed nose fitted with machine guns, so besides dropping bombs it could also attack ground targets with gunfire. The speed with which it could slip away after an attack was among its main advantages and kept it in service long after the fighting in Europe ended.
The glazing above the cockpit is divided into a series of small areas and to that are added the side windows and the glazing of the turret. Cutting by hand would take longer here than the spraying itself. Work pane by pane, take care that the edges of neighboring pieces do not overlap and apply the paint square to the frames. Then check against the light that no uncovered strip has been left anywhere.
