Big Sin is a combined box in which the Czech maker Eduard brings several separately sold resin accessories for one particular model together in a single package. This item is intended for a model of the Japanese carrier fighter A6M2 Zero in the Model 21 version in 1:48 scale and carries the ADVANCED designation. A set at the ESSENTIAL level also exists, so the level in the name is the main indication of the extent of the set. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for one.
The Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero in the Model 21 version was a Japanese carrier fighter of the early 1940s. It was powered by an air-cooled radial engine and what set it apart from other fighters of the time was the combination of exceptionally low weight, long range and good agility. The Model 21 version differed from the earlier variant above all in its folding wingtips, which made handling on the deck of a carrier easier. The lightened structure also meant limited armor protection, a design compromise that is characteristic of this type.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release residue disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, not with nippers, and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate; cement for plastic will not hold on resin. Dry-fit every part before gluing and remove from the plastic model the molded detail that the replacement is meant to replace. Finish and paint the interior parts before you close the fuselage up. A fine wash in the recesses and a careful dry brush along the edges will bring the details out.
