1:48 Airbase Amari Estonia is a printed acrylic display base measuring 410 x 270 millimeters with the motif of an Estonian military airfield.
Responsibility details are not available.
An acrylic board three millimeters thick carries an all-over print of an airfield surface. The format of 410 x 270 millimeters and a weight of 410 grams make it one of the larger pieces made by the brand Kelik. In 1:48 scale it covers roughly twenty meters of real concrete, so a fighter will fit on it with free space around the landing gear.
Amari lies in the northwest of Estonia not far from the Baltic coast. The airfield came into being back in the Soviet period, went through an extensive rebuild after the country joined the North Atlantic Alliance and serves as the home surface of the rotational units that guard the airspace of the Baltic states. Over the years the air arms of many European countries have taken their turn here, so the base suits an unexpectedly wide palette of machines and finishes.
Before you order the board, measure your shelf. A format over forty centimeters long needs a deeper display case than the smaller bases of the brand do. In return it gives a fighter room even for the canopy swung open, the flaps extended and the steps brought up, without anything overhanging the edge. Around the machine there will still be space for several figures of ground crew.
The machine itself, the ground crew and the airfield equipment from the photographs are not supplied with the board.
