The real subject

The gun designated 4.7 cm Pak 36 (t) was an antitank gun of Czechoslovak origin. The suffix (t) in German nomenclature marked equipment taken over from Czechoslovakia; the German army used these guns in the field form as well as built into tank destroyers. The 4.7 cm caliber corresponds to the diameter of the bore of the barrel, not to the length of the weapon. In a modeling scene you will meet this ammunition with German vehicles of the first years of the war.

This is an accessory set of ammunition in 1:48 scale, that is separate rounds for this gun. The exact number of pieces and the form of the individual parts are given on the box of the set with part number 49A029/48. The manufacturer also makes the same accessory in 1:35 and 1:72 scale.

Field of use

Ammunition belongs with the crew of a weapon: laid out at a firing position, lined up in transport boxes, handed over by a loader figure or stowed in the ammunition compartment of a vehicle. A few pieces placed around a gun say more about a scene than another vehicle would. It pays to stick to one story: either firing is going on, or the supply is being replenished.

Building and painting tips

Try seating the parts dry first. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest back. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface and let it dry. It works well to set the shell and the cartridge case apart in shade as well as in sheen, to tune them with a glaze and to bring the edges out with a dry brush. Paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
