This is a resin detail set, not an airplane model. It contains the pod of the AN/ALQ-99 system in the Low Band version, that is, the transmitter for the lower frequency bands. Scale 1:48. The resin casting has crisp geometry and fine surface detail that is hard to reproduce in injection-molded plastic.
The AN/ALQ-99 is an American tactical jamming system carried in pods under the fuselage and wings of electronic warfare aircraft. It serves to jam enemy radars and communications as part of suppressing air defenses. The Low Band transmitter covers the lower frequency bands; the pod is a typical external feature of specialized electronic warfare aircraft.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding. Apply a primer before painting; the pod is usually finished in light gray shades with the panel lines picked out lightly.
This is not a complete model. The set does not include glue, paints or a kit; it serves as an add-on to a base model.
