An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Czechoslovak fighter biplane Avia B-534 (the third series) in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. In the ProfiPACK edition, photo-etched parts and a mask set are usually enclosed alongside the plastic parts, and they enrich the build with fine detail. The model calls for ordinary modeling skills, and with a biplane for patience with the bracing wires as well. Check the exact contents and the number of marking options against the particular package.
The Avia B-534 was one of the best fighter biplanes of its time and a symbol of the interwar Czechoslovak Air Force. It came about in the middle of the 1930s and formed the backbone of the Czechoslovak fighter force at the time of the mobilization of 1938. The third production version is among the most widespread. B-534 machines later flew under Slovak and other markings as well. A biplane with fixed landing gear and an open or an enclosed cockpit depending on the series, it is a rewarding subject for collectors of interwar aircraft.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic, and attach the fine photo-etched parts with super glue. Paint the interior and the instrument panel before closing the fuselage, and mask the clear glazing with the enclosed masks. Pay particular attention to the bracing wires between the wings - stringing the bracing will markedly raise the fidelity of the model. Apply a primer, lay the colors on with an airbrush, place the decals over a gloss coat and bring out the lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
