The Aires Avia S-199 detail set (1:48) is a resin add-on set for a marked refinement of the plastic kit of the Czechoslovak fighter Mezek.

A detail set from the Czech maker Aires, intended to refine a plastic kit in 1:48 scale. It is not a standalone model of an aircraft but a set of add-ons in cast resin, usually complemented by photo-etch. The set replaces selected plastic parts with more faithful castings whose fine texture injection-molded plastic cannot capture.
The resin parts refine above all the pilot cockpit and other exposed areas of the Avia S-199, nicknamed Mezek, which means mule: the postwar Czechoslovak fighter derived from the Messerschmitt Bf 109. Check the exact package contents and the number of parts on the packaging of the set.
First separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash off the mold release residue and degrease them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Count on adjusting the fit by sanding and cleaning up the joints. Wear a respirator when sanding resin and do not inhale the dust.
An accessory for a kit, not a standalone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
