This is a combined pack of accessories from the LööKplus line, not a model of an aircraft. The set brings together three separate sets for the British heavy bomber Avro Lancaster B Mk.I in 1:48 scale: LööK — a resin instrument panel with a 3D color decal and pre-colored steel safety belts (Steelbelts), a TFace masking set for the glazing (from the outside and the inside alike) and resin wheels with a faithful tread. Everything is shaped for the Lancaster kit from Hong Kong Models.

The real subject

The Avro Lancaster was the backbone of the RAF night bomber force in the Second World War. Its roomy bomb bay allowed it to carry an exceptionally heavy load, including the largest British bombs. The glazed cockpit and the instrument panel are among the strikingly visible places on a model.

Use and fitting

• Check that you are building the Lancaster B.I in 1:48 scale from Hong Kong Models — the pack is shaped for that kit.
• Wash the resin panel and the wheels free of mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off; glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Stick the TFace masks onto clean glazing, cut any excess varnish away and take them off carefully once sprayed.
• The pre-colored steel belts only have to be shaped and fitted — painting is already dealt with.
