Model Maker 1:48 Avro Lancaster in Polish Service, part II is a decal set for a model of the four-engined Avro Lancaster bomber in Polish markings, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a sheet of markings for a finished model, not a kit. The set is the second part of a two-part series; the first part is issued as a separate item in the same scale, so keep an eye on the part designation when ordering. Both sets are issued separately and do not replace one another. The scale is 1:48 and the manufacturer is Model Maker.
The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engined heavy bomber of the Second World War. Its recognition features are the twin vertical tail, the long undivided bomb bay and the four inline engines on the wing. The layout of the bomb bay was fundamental to the type, because it allowed it to carry loads for which other machines of the day had no room. Within the British force the Lancaster was flown by Polish crews too, and their machines carried their own unit insignia alongside the standard British markings.
The surface underneath has to be glossy, otherwise air stays under the film and a decal silvers. The order is paint, gloss varnish, decal, softener, matte overcoat. With large-area insignia on the fuselage of a big model it pays to have plenty of water and a soft brush to hand: on wet varnish a decal can still be slid about for a while, but not once it is dry. Take the surplus water off from the edge and add the patina only after the overcoat.
The package holds markings for a model. The model itself, the paints and the varnish are not part of it.
