The interior of the forward fuselage of the Australian F-111C as it looked in the second half of the type's service. Three-dimensional panel decals are part of the package according to the name. The version is prepared for the Academy kit, which sets it apart from an otherwise identically named item from the same manufacturer.
The Australian machines went through several changes of equipment during operation and their workspace gradually moved away from the original state. The crew in the cockpit sit side by side and the whole space forms a separate module that detached from the aircraft in an emergency, so around the men there is no classic seat well but a closed container. It is exactly this plan that makes the cockpit of the F-111 series a rewarding object for careful finishing, and it is also the reason it pays to leave the canopy open on a model.
Wash and dry it before painting, take the casting residues off with a saw and finish with abrasive paper. A base in a dark shade, picked out edges and fine shadows into the corners give the space depth. The panel decals hold on a smooth gloss, and once dry a matte overcoat follows. The assembly has to be seated before the nose is closed, otherwise you will no longer get inside.
