A set of precisely cut self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the American North American B-25B Mitchell medium bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a model - it is an accessory that makes it easier to paint the extensive glazing and other areas cleanly. The masks are applied directly to the parts, so the complex framing of the cockpit glazing, the glazed nose and the gun turrets gains sharp straight edges with no cutting of adhesive tape. Sets of this type usually also hold circular masks for the wheel hubs.
The North American B-25B was an early production Mitchell, an American twin-engine medium bomber. It entered history above all as the aircraft of the Doolittle raid on Tokyo in April 1942, when a group of B-25s took off from the deck of an aircraft carrier for the first time. The B version had a glazed nose and both dorsal and ventral gun turrets, so the large glazed areas make masks an especially useful accessory on this type.
Carefully lift the mask off the backing with tweezers or the tip of a knife and place it on a dry, degreased surface. Press the edges down carefully so that no paint creeps under them. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and lift the mask before the coat has hardened completely. On strongly curved shapes it helps to back the edge with liquid mask.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
