A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the B-25J Mitchell bomber in the glazed nose version. The metal parts add detail that cannot be achieved in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The North American B-25 Mitchell is an American twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War with piston radial engines and a twin vertical tail. The B-25J version was built in two forms of the nose section: with a glazed nose for a bombardier and with a solid nose fitted with machine guns for low-level attacks. This set is aimed at the version with the glazed nose.
A set of photo-etched parts in thin sheet metal in 1:48 scale. Etching makes it possible to capture elements that in plastic are necessarily thicker than they should be, above all thin sheets, grilles, buckles and small interior equipment. The list of parts and their position on the model is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers, which will bend the metal. Level the small remainder after separation with a fine file. Make the bends along the pressed lines, ideally in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and bend in one movement, because repeated working back and forth tires the metal. Cement for polystyrene will not join metal, so use cyanoacrylate or an epoxy and apply only a tiny amount. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and lay a primer on it, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. The parts for the glazed nose have to be fitted before the glazing is closed, so think the order of the steps out in advance.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
