The pre-painted seat belts 1:48 BAC/SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A seatbelts STEEL are etched from steel, so once bent they hold their shape considerably better than soft metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
The STEEL designation means that the straps are not etched from brass but from steel. A modeler recognizes the difference at the first bend: a steel strip keeps exactly the position it is pushed into, so it can be credibly draped over the edge of the shell of the seat or left to hang freely onto the floor of the cockpit. The face side carries color printing from production and the buckles and the fittings are suggested, so once cut out the straps can be seated straight away.
The Jaguar came into being as a joint British and French program and with the RAF it served in the GR.1 and GR.1A versions as a tactical attack machine with the stress on flight at low altitude. Its service in the Persian Gulf at the beginning of the 1990s earned it the reputation of an inconspicuous but reliable workhorse which handled conventional bombs and reconnaissance pods alike. In the cockpit the pilot sat on a Martin-Baker ejection seat.
Cut them out only just before gluing and hold them with tweezers by a part that will not be on show. Do the shaping gradually, bend by bend, so that the printed layer is not damaged. Dose the glue in a minute amount onto the contact point, otherwise it will run onto the printing.
The goods contain the belts only; they replace neither the seat nor the aircraft.
