This is a set of decals in 1:48 scale, not a kit. It is intended for the FRS.1 version, that is the original carrier-borne form of the Sea Harrier. To be able to make use of it you need a matching model of the Sea Harrier FRS.1 in the same scale; neither that nor paints are in the package.
The Sea Harrier FRS.1 was a British single-seat carrier-borne aircraft with vertical and short takeoff, derived from the land-based Harrier line. Its fundamental quality was the vectored thrust of the engine, which allowed operation from short decks with a ski-jump ramp in the bow. The designation FRS summed up the three roles the machine was meant for: fighter, reconnaissance and strike. In practice it stood out for its small dimensions, the markedly sloped shape of the cockpit canopy and a fairly plain naval finish in two shades of gray.
The most frequent cause of a ruined decal is, paradoxically, oversoaking. It is enough to dip the decal in lukewarm water for a few seconds and then let it rest out of the water on a paper towel, because the moisture will reach the adhesive anyway and the film will come free of its own accord. If you leave the sheet in the water for a long time, all the adhesive dissolves and the decal has nothing to grip on the model; on top of that the risk grows that the film will roll up while being moved. You can tell easily: a well-soaked decal can be pushed along the paper with the light pressure of a brush but does not slide off by itself. Cold water slows the process down, while hot water damages the adhesive, so lukewarm is the surest.
It is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
