A small conversion set for rebuilding a model of the German Panther medium tank into the command version in 1:48 scale. It mounts on a finished plastic kit; the model itself is not included in the package. It is an accessory made of resin and plastic, so the work differs from photo-etch.
Command Panthers were created by modifying production vehicles: further radio sets were added inside, at the cost of the ammunition stowage. Outwardly the change showed mainly in the extra antennas and their mountings on the hull and the turret. The vehicle thus kept its combat value and at the same time served as a signals hub, a detail that makes sense of a whole diorama scene.
The amount of work on the kit is small with this conversion, but it calls for accuracy. Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the mold release agent disappears, cut off the casting blocks and dress the surfaces with abrasive paper while protecting your breathing. Bond with super glue, and on small parts with the gel version, which gives you time to set the part in place. Drill the holes for the antennas slowly with a micro drill, preferably in two passes, so that the plastic does not crack. We recommend fitting the antennas only after the whole vehicle has been painted and weathered.
This is an accessory, not a kit in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
