Responsibility details are not available.
A darker gray from the acrylic Real Colors range by AK Interactive, listed under the designation RC915 and the number FS 36176. The name of the item assigns it to F-15 fighters and to their gray finish listed under the designation Mod Eagle. The FS number refers to the American color standard and serves to compare colors across brands. The volume of the container is 17 ml according to the name.
The shade is the darker component of a two-color gray combination in which lighter and darker fields alternate panel by panel on the fuselage and the lifting surfaces. The exact transition between the two grays therefore matters for the result: either it is masked with tape according to a diagram, or it is sprayed freehand at a minimal distance, so that the edge stays soft but legible. Whichever route you choose, apply both grays onto an equally prepared base, or their tone will diverge in the transition.
Wash and degrease the model, or the coat will be torn off when the masking tape is peeled away. Stir the container properly. Apply it in several thin coats with a short pause between them. Stick the masks onto the first color only once it is well dried and pull them away slowly, at an angle to the edge. Thin it with the thinner intended for this range of paints; the thinning ratio and the pressure in the airbrush are stated by the manufacturer in the instructions.
For modelers who build modern American fighters and want the darker component of the gray finish without mixing. It is a single shade; a thinner, a primer, masks and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise.
