Bf 109E-4 masks 1:48 is a set of painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for masking the glazed cockpit and other elements of a model of this type.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale for the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 fighter. The masks serve to mask the angular frames of the glazed cockpit accurately, and usually the wheels as well, during painting. It is not a model but an accessory to building one.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, nicknamed the Emil, was a German single-engine fighter used on a large scale in the period of the Battle of Britain. It was powered by a Daimler-Benz DB 601 inverted V12 engine and carried a combination of machine gun and cannon armament.
The masks are laid adhesive side down straight onto clean, degreased cockpit glazing and the other masked elements of the model, the edges are pressed down carefully and the areas between them are covered with tape or masking fluid. The framing is then sprayed in the airframe color and, once dry, the masks are taken off carefully. The pre-cut shape matches the division of the cockpit, so there is no laborious cutting of tape with a knife. The masks are meant for the given aircraft type; the particular kit has to be obtained separately.
Painting masks are not a model. The aircraft kit itself has to be obtained separately; masks aside, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
