Replacement exhausts for a model of the Bf 109E in 1:48 scale. A small part that is visible from the side on a finished model at first glance.
Responsibility details are not available.
The exhausts sit on the sides of the nose, that is in the place the eye goes to right after the cockpit. On the real aircraft they are separate thin-walled pipes with mouths you can see into. A replacement part takes care of this small thing for you, and the difference shows even though it is a few millimeters of material. The set is listed for the Bf 109E, that is for the early form of the German fighter aircraft, in 1:48 scale; it belongs to the Quickboost range.
First dry-fit the part and compare it with the opening on the model; do any adjusting of the bearing surface now, not after gluing. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that the exhausts can be seated fully home. The suitable glue is given in the manufacturer's instructions according to the material of the parts. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. The exhausts are easier to paint separately and are seated on the model only when finished.
Exhausts are never a single color. The basis is usually a dark metallic shade to which rusty and brown tones are added; they are strongest right at the mouth, where the temperature worked hardest. Behind the exhausts a trail of exhaust gases then runs along the side of the fuselage, which you imitate with thin coats of a dark shade applied with an airbrush in the direction of the airflow.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
