Replacement Quickboost exhausts for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement exhaust parts from the Quickboost brand for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109F fighter in 1:48 scale. They replace the exhausts from the kit. The exhaust stubs emerge along both sides of the forward fuselage right under the engine cowling, so they stay in view on a finished model all the time and how they are rendered goes a long way toward setting how the model reads.
The Bf 109F was the version in which the designers tuned the aerodynamics of the machine. The wing was given rounded tips, the struts of the horizontal tail surface went away and the front of the fuselage was simplified into a smoother shape. The aircraft was powered by a liquid-cooled inverted V12, whose cylinders lay in an inverted position, so the exhaust stubs come out low along the sides of the fuselage.
Dry-fit the parts in both openings of the engine cowling and glue them only then, so that the row of stubs stays straight and at the same height on both sides. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. The parts are not polystyrene, cement for polystyrene has no effect on them, so use super glue. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. It works well to paint the exhausts to one side and glue them on only once the fuselage is finished, because the shade of weathered metal and the soot are hard to get off the surrounding paint.
Supplied are the replacement exhaust parts according to the name. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
