This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains a pair of resin main landing gear wheels in 1:48 scale for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 fighter. It is not an airplane kit but an aftermarket detail accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the original kit. The wheels correspond to the late Bf 109 configuration and are rendered as precise castings with fine detail of the hub and the tire sidewall. A self-adhesive painting mask for the hubs is usually included in the package.
The resin casting captures the tread, the hub and the brake detail more sharply than injection-molded plastic. The wheel corresponds to the late Bf 109 versions and makes it possible to suggest realistic flattening of the tire at the contact patch. The parts are conceived as a direct replacement for the original wheel from the kit.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts in lukewarm soapy water. Cut off the casting block and sand the surface with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use the enclosed masks before painting and paint the hub and the tire separately.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
