Printed layered cockpit elements and steel belts for the Bf 110D heavy fighter, scale 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twin-engine Bf 110 was originally meant to escort bomber formations deep over enemy territory. The D version took that idea the furthest, because it received a massive auxiliary tank under the fuselage that crews nicknamed the dachshund belly after its shape. It was with this equipment that the machines operated over the North Sea and over Norway, where range counted and where the nimble opponent that caused the type heavy losses elsewhere was missing.
The package concentrates on both crew stations, that is on the pilot and on the gunner at the rear. The instrument panels, side walls and placards are printed in layers on a film and are transferred with water. Steel harness straps with a realistic sag complete the set.
The long glazed cockpit of this type lets you see both seats, so it pays to bring both spaces up to the same standard. Seat the elements while there are still drops of water under them, and draw the excess off with the corner of a paper towel rather than by wiping across the surface.
In the cramped cockpit the two men could almost see each other's hands and each had his own set of instruments. On a model that changes a great deal, because as soon as the rear station is skimped, the overall impression falls apart. It is also worth thinking about the position of the canopy, and that before the fuselage is glued together. An open cockpit shows the work done in full, a closed one hides most of it, and the decision is very hard to change later.
The model of the heavy fighter and the paints are obtained separately.
