Photo-etched parts for a model of the Blackburn Buccaneer S.2B strike aircraft in 1:48 scale. Sheet metal holds a thickness that plastic cannot reach.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts in thin sheet metal for a model of the Buccaneer S.2B. Photo-etch is added to a build where the real subject is sheet metal, a grille or a thin strap and where the matching plastic part would necessarily come out thicker. The parts are etched into a carrier sheet and held in it by thin tabs, from which they are cut only at the moment of fitting.
The Buccaneer is a British twin-engine strike aircraft intended for attack at low altitude and high speed. It originally served from the decks of aircraft carriers and later moved to the land-based units of the Royal Air Force, and the S.2B designation belongs to that configuration. The crew consists of a pilot and a navigator in tandem, and among the unmistakable features of the type are the rotating bomb bay in the fuselage and the air brake that opens at the very end of the fuselage.
For modelers who want to take a Buccaneer model beyond the level of the kit itself and have experience of working with tweezers. The process is slower, but the difference shows at first glance.
The package contains photo-etched parts. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
