1:48 Fw 190D-11/13 SPACE is a set of relief 3D decals from Eduard for detailing the cockpit of the model of the German Fw 190D fighter. It takes the place of hand-painting the small items of the interior.

A set of the SPACE range is a decal set, not a photo-etched one. The elements are printed in color and in raised relief on a backing paper; they have no adhesive layer of their own and are transferred onto the cockpit parts by the wet method. They cover the instrument panel, the side consoles and other small items, so that a legible and colorful interior appears without the slow painting of individual dials and switches. It is not an airplane model; the base kit and the paints are obtained separately. Check the exact composition of the set against the manufacturer's data.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D belongs to the late versions of this fighter, in which the original radial engine was replaced by a liquid-cooled V-type engine. The fuselage was lengthened at the front and at the rear because of it, and the aircraft took on a different silhouette from the earlier machines of the A series. The D-11 and D-13 subversions differed from the more common machines above all in the make-up of their armament and in changes to the powerplant.
The surface must be smooth and degreased: level the raised dials and switches on the plastic part first, otherwise the element will not seat. Then moisten only the backing paper under the part with a sponge and a drop of dish soap; do not dip the whole sheet in water. Take the released element off with tweezers and carry it into place, working over a tray so that the small parts do not fly off. Fix them with white PVA glue; the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate. Leave out a decal softener, because its chemistry attacks the printed resin. At the end a matte varnish is worth applying to even the sheen out with the surroundings of the cockpit; the instruments, on the other hand, suit a drop of gloss varnish for the effect of glass.
The set is an accessory for a model. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
